Detailed Description
Situated amidst the scenic Aravalli Hills, the Galtaji Temple, often called the Monkey Temple, is a centuries-old pilgrimage site. This temple complex is unique, as it houses a series of natural water springs and kunds (holy tanks), believed to have purifying properties.
The centerpiece of Galtaji is the Ramgopalji Temple, built in pink sandstone and resembling a grand palace. The temple complex is also home to shrines dedicated to Lord Krishna, Lord Rama, and Hanuman. The lush surroundings, dotted with monkeys, add a rustic charm to the sacred site.
Pilgrims often take a dip in the Galta Kund, considered the holiest of the tanks, and offer prayers to seek blessings. The best time to visit is during Makar Sankranti, when thousands of devotees gather to celebrate and bathe in the holy waters.
Fun Fact
The springs at Galtaji never dry up, regardless of the season, and are considered miraculous.
