Nahargarh Fort
Perched high on the Aravalli Hills, Nahargarh Fort offers a breathtaking view of Jaipur and its surroundings. Built in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the fort was intended as a retreat and a defensive structure. Its name, meaning "Abode of Tigers," adds an aura of mystery and intrigue.
The fort’s architecture is a blend of traditional Rajput styles and European influences. The Madhavendra Bhawan, a palace within the fort, was designed for the king and his queens, with each queen having a separate suite connected by corridors adorned with beautiful frescoes.
Nahargarh Fort is a popular spot for picnics and evening outings, offering spectacular sunset views. Its walls stretch for kilometers, connecting it to the Amber and Jaigarh Forts, forming a protective triangle around Jaipur.
