Detailed Description 


Located about 80 km from Jaipur, Sambhar Lake is India’s largest inland saltwater lake. It is a paradise for birdwatchers, especially during winter when flamingos, pelicans, and storks flock here in large numbers. The lake’s shimmering white landscape is otherworldly, often likened to a snowy desert. Visitors can explore salt pans, local villages, and ancient temples around the lake.

The lake produces about 196,000 tons of salt annually, contributing to 9% of India’s salt production.
